Tourist Visa
L-character visa is to be issued to those who come to China to travel or come home to visit his or her family and who come just because of some other private business.
Credentials to be offered
1. The period of validity gets up above 6 months (from the delivering day of application), providing the original passport with blank visa page;
2. One copy of ‘Visa Application Form’, enclosed with a recent photo of 2×2 inches (white-and-black photo and color photo are both OK, pasted on the application form);
3. Those that were born in China and joined other nationalities afterwards should show their original copy of Chinese passport or the copy of the passport at the first time of applying for a visa.
4. The information of the children born in America with Chinese blood lineage who are to apply for a visa for the first time is given below.
One of the following requirements should be met to apply for several times of visiting the family or traveling within half a year or one year
1. To offer the relevant certificates of the real need of coming to China to visit family or to travel, such as the invitation letter of the kinsfolk in China or the relative relations proof, or the certificate of possessing the house property or living in China for a long time (house property, the contract of purchasing a house or that of renting a house etc.), or the certification material that their sons or daughters were adopted in China (the copy of the Children’s Chinese passport and the adaptation document etc.);
2. The people that were born in China and are still of Chinese Nationality, came to China more than twice in the past year and offer the copy of the original visa;
3. Host organization correspondence testifies the written explanation of requiring them to come to China for many times of touring;
4. The people that have the visa of L-character for many times and offer the copy of the original visa.
Tips:
You are required to fill in the application form honestly and completely; if you fill it dishonestly or miss some contents or with unclear handwriting, your application may possibly be refused to sign and your traveling may be delayed.
The traveling visa (L-visa) holders must enter China through the ports open to foreigners and accept the inspection of the frontier defense inspecting department. They are supposed to deliver valid passports and China visas and fill in an entering card. They cannot enter China before the inspecting department approves and has a seal on the visas.
The validity period and the period for staying of visa
The validity period of visa for the first and second time of entering China is usually 3 or 6 months, the period of visa for staying is 30 days under general situation (counting from the first day of entering China). When applying for a visa, the visa government officials can add some days to the period for staying following the actual requirement and the need of the applicants.
Hong Kong Visa
Residents of most countries can enter Hong Kong without applying for a visa in advance and are allowed to stay for 90 days. A visa will be issued on arrival. All the visa-free countries are listed below.

Macau Visa
Residents of the following countries would be granted visa-free entry to Macau. Passport holders of other countries not specified hereunder should apply a visa for entry admission.

Tibet Permit
There are overall four documents required for foreign tourists who want to travel freely in Tibet. One is the Chinese Visa, which you can apply for in Chinese Embassy in your country, one is Tibet Permit, which you have to obtain in order to enter Tibet, one is the Travel Permit when you are planning to travel to the closed areas in Tibet which you can obtain after you arrive in Tibet, and the last one is the Military Permit, which you have to obtain if you are planning to travel to some military sensitive areas. Passports & Visa
All individuals entering Tibet must hold a passport valid for at least six months. If you are entering Tibet from China, your Chinese visa will be valid, though only travelers with tourist visas (not business, resident or student visas) are permitted. Entering Tibet from Nepal, either by friendship highway or by air requires a separate visa valid for Tibet from the Chinese embassy in Katmandu (30-60 day visas are the norm and it normally takes 2 week days to obtain it.). You may apply for a group visa from us (minimum of two people in a group and you must leave China with this person unless you can change the visa inside China).
Tibet Entry Permit
Tibet Entry Permit is issued only to tour groups traveling with a Chinese tour operator. You travel agency will represent you to go on the application process. A permit to Tibet usually costs around 200 Yuan.
Travel Permit
Travel Permit, also called Aliens' Travel Permit (A.T.P), is required to visit closed areas. It is issued by Foreign Affairs Section of the Local Public Security Bureau (PSB).The Law on the Control of Entry and Exit of Foreigners (Order of the President of the People's Republic of China (No.31), 22.11.1985, Chapter 4), says:
Article 20: Foreigners who hold valid visas or residence certificates may travel to places declared open to foreigners by the Chinese Government.
Article 21: Foreigners who desire to travel to places closed to foreigners shall apply for travel permits from local public security organs [i.e., the police].
F-visa for Business
‘F character’ visa is issued to those who visit China to study, make inspection, give lecture, do business, launch science and technology and cultural exchanges or to get short-term training, staff training and other activities for not more than six months.
Documents to be offered

3. To have the invitation letter from Chinese organization or American company's application form for visa (the original copy, copy one or the telegram copy are all acceptable);
4. Those that were born in China and joined other nationalities afterwards should show their original copy of Chinese passport or the copy of the passport at the first time of applying for a visa.
One of the following requirements should be met to apply for several times of visiting the family or traveling within half a year or one year
1. To show the invitation of the Chinese authorized organization;
2. To offer the certificates of investing in China or the certificates of cooperating with China, such as business passport, contract, offers etc;
3. To offer the visa application by Chinese company or American local company illustrating that you are supposed to come to China frequently to have economic and trade activities;
4. The people that have the visa of F-character more than twice to China or have F-character visa for many times and offer the copy of the original visa.
Tips
1. The people who meet one of the conditions among 1, 2 and 3 can apply many times of commercial visa within two years.
